Accessibility
Accessibility Policy
At Spanish Sin Pena, we are committed to creating a learning environment that is welcoming and accessible to participants with diverse needs and abilities.
Online Classes
Our program is hosted online through Zoom, which allows students to participate from their own environment in ways that work best for them.
Participants can:
• Join class from home without the need for travel
• Adjust their screen settings or use assistive technologies such as screen readers
• Choose a comfortable position for attending class (sitting, standing, or lying down)
• Revisit recorded classes when available
Zoom’s closed captioning feature is available for many classes. Because our sessions often include bilingual dialogue, Spanglish, and slang, captions may not always be perfectly accurate, but they can still be a helpful support tool.
If you use assistive technology or have accessibility needs we should be aware of, please feel free to reach out so we can do our best to support your participation.
In-Person Meetups
Spanish Sin Pena occasionally hosts or promotes student-led meetups and cafecitos in different cities.
We encourage organizers to choose public spaces that are accessible whenever possible. However, since these gatherings are community-led, accessibility may vary depending on the venue.
If you plan to attend an event and have accessibility questions, we encourage you to contact the event organizer and Spanish Sin Pena in advance so we can help coordinate when possible.
Immersion Trips
From time to time Spanish Sin Pena may organize immersion trips in Latin America.
Accessibility standards vary by country, and some destinations may include uneven streets, stairs, or infrastructure that differs from U.S. ADA standards. If you are interested in participating in a future trip and have accessibility needs, we encourage you to reach out early so we can share information and explore possible accommodations.
Your Input Matters
We are committed to making Spanish Sin Pena as accessible as possible and will do our best to provide reasonable accommodations when requested. Because our program includes live conversations, community-led activities, and international experiences, some accommodations may not always be possible, but we are always open to discussing ways to support participation.
