What Makes Spanish Sin Pena Different
At Spanish Sin Pena, we focus on conversation, culture, and community.
We believe language is not just something you study — it is something you live, feel, and share with others.
Our classes create a space where you can:
✨ Practice speaking Spanish regularly
✨ Learn grammar in ways that actually support conversation
✨ Connect with others on a similar journey
✨ Explore culture through music, dance, books, and storytelling
✨ Build confidence speaking Spanish in everyday life
Little by little, students move from pena → confianza.

What a Typical Week Inside Spanish Sin Pena Looks Like
Each week we offer many classes across levels, including small-group conversation classes, grammar, and cultural classes.
You do not need to attend everything. These classes are options so you can choose what works best for your schedule, interests, and energy.
We recommend attending at least one live small-group class each week in your level so you have a consistent space to practice speaking Spanish.
If you are able to attend two classes per week, that is excellent practice.
Some students join one class a week, while others attend three or four depending on their availability.
The goal is simply consistent practice and connection.
What Students Are Experiencing in Spanish Sin Pena
Check out what our students have to say about our program.
Meet Our Team
One of the things that makes our small group facilitators unique is that many of them started as Spanish Sin Pena students themselves.
They know what it feels like to experience pena, hesitation, or shame when speaking Spanish, because they have been on that journey too.
That shared experience helps create a space where everyone is learning, supporting one another, and growing together.
You will also notice the diversity of backgrounds and Spanish dialects represented in our team. This is something many students find incredibly enriching. Rather than learning from a single teacher or app, students are exposed to different voices, accents, and cultural perspectives from across the Spanish-speaking world.
The heart of Spanish Sin Pena is the people who make this community possible.
What Students Gain
Students join Spanish Sin Pena for many different reasons, but over time we see some beautiful and meaningful changes happen.

⭐ More confidence speaking Spanish
Students begin to understand more, worry less about making mistakes, and feel more comfortable starting conversations in Spanish in everyday life.

Instead of feeling stuck or critical of themselves, students begin taking small risks — speaking with neighbors, ordering in Spanish, or starting conversations with strangers.
⭐ Professional opportunities
Some students gain the confidence to work with Spanish-speaking clients, collaborate on projects in Latin America, or bring their Spanish into their careers.
⭐ Using Spanish to support others
Many students use their Spanish to help immigrant communities — translating, advocating, volunteering, or simply showing up in moments when language matters.
⭐ A sense of belonging and community
Perhaps most importantly, students discover they are not alone in this journey and find a community of people reconnecting with language, culture, and identity together.

All classes are currently virtual which allows are students to join from anywhere.
Students also organize cafecitos and meetups in different cities where members can practice Spanish together in person.
⭐ Will this program actually help me improve my Spanish?
This is the silent question everyone has.
Many students tell us they have tried apps, classes, or studying on their own before — but Spanish Sin Pena feels different because it also acknowledges the emotions, anxiety, and experiences many heritage speakers carry when it comes to language.
Over time, students often share that they begin to:
• feel more confident speaking Spanish
• understand conversations more easily
• worry less about making mistakes
• take more risks speaking in everyday situations
• reconnect with family members and cultural traditions
Students who consistently show up to class often say something shifts — they stop being so critical of themselves and begin trusting their Spanish.
Like anything meaningful, progress comes with practice and participation. When you show up, practice, and allow yourself to learn alongside others, you may be surprised by how much your confidence grows.
